Announcement of the Groups

The Eurobasket 2017 draw was completed on 22 November at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul and the opponents of the Greek National team in the first phase of the basketball event - which will take place in Helsinki from 31/8 to 7/9 - have been announced. The Greek team is in Group A and will play with Finland, Iceland, France, Slovenia and Poland, setting as first target the qualification to the second phase to be held in Istanbul from 9/9 to 17 / 9.

While the first group is considered relatively easy, with Greece having great chances to claim the first place, if they are in good condition, the same cannot ne considered the fourth group, where Turkey, Russia and Serbia are expected to give a tough fight for the top two positions.

The Eurobasket 2017 groups are as follows:

Group A: Poland, Greece, France, Finland, Iceland, Slovenia

Group B: Ukraine, Israel, Lithuania, Georgia, Italy, Germany

Group C: Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, Montenegro, Hungary, Romania

Group D: Russia, Serbia, Turkey, M. Britain, Latvia, Belgium

The final phase of the Eurobasket will take place in Istanbul at Sinan Erdem Arena and while ticket prices have been announced, tickets are not yet available for purchase.
